Crowns and bridges are an ideal solution if you have weakened or missing teeth or molars.

When a tooth is filled, it becomes weakened. The larger the filling, the weaker the tooth. Sometimes the filling in a tooth or molar is so large that the risk of fracture is high. In such cases, the dentist may recommend protecting the tooth or molar with a crown. A crown is a strong cap placed over the tooth, distributing the forces the tooth experiences, which helps prevent it from breaking.

Nowadays, crowns are typically made entirely from tooth-colored material. Only in rare cases is it necessary to use metal in the crown, and the dentist will always discuss this with you beforehand. To fill the space of a missing tooth or molar, a bridge may be created. Crowns are placed on the teeth on both sides of the missing tooth, and a “floating” crown is attached to fill the space left by the lost tooth or molar.
